Ex-"Coquille" horse-barge build in 1810 and launched in 1811, rebuild by the explorer Duperrey to do scientific travel all-around the world 1822-25.
Then used by Dumond d'Urville to discover more than sixty islands during her second travel (1826-29) and afford to draw many hydrographic maps.
Afterwhat it was used by the French navy during the battle that end with the capture of Algier in 1830.
Her return to the small fleet of Dumond d'Urville for his Antarctic expedition (1837-40) that drove to the discovery of the Terre Adelie.
